DECKEE Charts Arrive for U.S. Waters

DECKEE, the world’s leading boating and waterway safety app, has launched DECKEE Charts for U.S. waters, bringing official NOAA hydrographic data into a clean, mobile-first format built for the everyday recreational boater.

Until now, this data – depths, hazards, navigation aids, and more – has been buried in tools designed for commercial operators or the highly experienced. For the average boater, these interfaces are cluttered, complex, and confusing to interpret. That makes it harder to prepare properly, and harder to make confident decisions on the water.

The new DECKEE charts experience for U.S. waters surfaces the same trusted data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), but in a format that’s actually helpful and usable for everyday planning.

“The uncomfortable reality that rarely gets acknowledged is that most everyday recreational boaters aren’t using charts regularly, and many don’t fully understand them when they do,” said Mike McKiernan, CEO of DECKEE. “It’s not because they don’t want this information. Boaters care about getting home safely and making good decisions. But too often, existing tools have made it hard to access and interpret what matters. That’s a real safety issue, and we felt a responsibility to fix it in pursuit of our mission.”

DECKEE Charts for U.S. Waters are now available to all DECKEE Supporters Club members. It’s the latest release in a growing toolkit for waterways users that includes real-time safety alerts, personalized weather forecasts and equipment checklists, GPS location sharing, and automated trip logging.

DECKEE is the world’s leading, trusted technology partner of government waterway agencies and industry organizations including the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission and the National Safe Boating Council of the USA. Together, we’re uniting to make it easier for people to plan, prepare and get out there on the water.
