There are plenty of places to stay overnight on the public moorings. It is best to be guided by where you are launching your boat and the wind direction to ensure you get calm conditions. Look at the Department of Transport map. There are public moorings in East Fremantle, Bicton, Mossman and Freshwater Bays, Canning Bridge, Matilda Bay, South Perth, outside Elizabeth Quay, East Perth and the Maylands area. It is important to have a back up plan as moorings could be busy or if the weather conditions change, you may want an alternative...

Love Perth Water but....

"Perth water" is indeed beautiful sailing ground but entry from the ocean is restricted to smaller craft due to bridge height en-route up the Swan River. Really look at your charts as with any estuary sailing shoals are prevalent.
Great location and panorama, yacht clubs
