premiums were much better than Youi

Reviewed Sep 2017
I am happy with the NRMA.

They are good to deal with and there premiums were much better than Youi.

I am much more confident about making a claim with them than the bad experience I had with Youi.

Competitive, but time will tell

I have our Top Hat insured with NRMA. When we took out the policy they wanted an in-water survey only. It includes rigging, and public liability, but not racing. So far the policy is competitive, but I'm not totally certain they'll be any better at honouring claims than any other insurer.

In the end, it is a gambling game for them. They'll all take your policy money for as long as the odds stack in their favour. As soon as there's a few claims on older boats dragging moorings, they'll clamp down on them.

Asked me to separate the amount insured for the boat and the trailer.

I'm with NRMA as I've got a few vehicles already with them. When I bought the boat they asked me to separate the amount insured for the boat and the trailer. I guess that way they limit your claim if anything happens to one or the other.

Gold standard customer service. Timber boat insured for 6 months and damaged

The experience I have had with NRMA has been nothing short of fantastic. I have a 40ft AWB that was damaged in the Marina at woolwich. The claim was made, the assessor came out and the claim paid all in a very short space of time. There was a problem with the original repairer being unable to repair before xmas and NRMA approved a higher quote to get the job done. I dont think you could ask for more than that.

My insurance was recently due for renewal with YOUI. I received a letter from them saying they were no longer able to cover my Roberts designed 27' yacht. When I rang unable to give me a reason why. After searching around finally spoke to NRMA. Better premium and very helpfull and understanding. Definitely worth a call.
