Hope Harbour Marina - John Lund Drive Hope Harbour
Reviewed Jun 2018
When we purchased our Lagoon 440 it was already berthed at Hope Harbour Marina. After purchase we kept the boat there will we completed all our work that was required prior to cruising north this year (2018). There are 280 berths catering for boats to 40 metres. A dedicated fuel wharf is available but there is no sewarage pump out available. The dock masters, Russel and Ryan cannot do enough for you and will happily come down to help you dock if requested. The majority of the fingers are have individual gates and locks ensuring good security and privacy. The marins is well protected from all winds. The fairway into the marina can be a tad narrow if two large catamarans want to pass but there is plenty of areas to wait to allow craft to pass. We found that the showers, toilets and laundry were always spotless. A small cafe is located on the grounds and sell great coffee and snack food.
The only downside to the marina is the lack of shops and services nearby. Fortunatley we had the use of a car which made it easy. A loan car would be a great addition to the marina to assist cruisers wishing to call in and provision. It was not till we were about to leave that we found that there are hire cars available from a 7 eleven service centre a short distance away who have very competitive rates and will deliver and pick up a car to the marina. (Premier Car Rentals 1300 858 856).
A large shopping centre is being built only a couple of Kilometres away and when completed will be a short and cheap cab ride to assist provisioning.
