Sailing for everyone
Reviewed Jul 2016
I met Allsail at the Sydney boat show in 2015. Russell looked friendly and smiley enough to entice me on board and I was sold on the keel boat crewing course within about 60 seconds and I am certainly pleased with what I got.
At Allsail they put you straight into hands on learning. I couldn't believe I was helming a 40ft yacht within the first 5 minutes of the first lesson.
They have an impressive fleet of keel boats. Three 24 footers and three 40 footers.
Most of the sailing training takes place on the 24 footers but it depends on the conditions on the particular day as to which boat you take out.
The big boats are a Bavaria 40 called Dancing Star, a Beneteau Oceanis 39 called The Frog and a Sydney 38 racer called Another Challenge.
If you've never sailed before and you want to learn (like me) or if you just want to sail but don't have a boat this is the perfect place for you.
I highly recommend Allsail.
They also offer boat charters, racing events locally and overseas plus a few other fun things (like the Scotland Island dog race). There really is something for everyone.
The only thing they are bad it is counting how many times you sailed. I'm sure I got about 3 more trips than I paid for but I'm not complaining about that! I will be looking out for the Allsail crew at Sydney this year and see about doing the inshore skippers course.
Really friendly, you get more than you expect.
