$192 per night No Way

Reviewed May 2016
Abell Pt Marina is a nice Marina with good facilities. A long way from either supermarket.

But at $192 per night time an 18m berth, I wouldn't stay there on principal. Save it for a cyclonic event and hope they show some reasonableness when that happens.

Thanks for the honest review. Our berth pricing includes not only the wet berth accommodation but also access to a range of facilities and amenities which make your stay more pleasurable. Our full concierge service includes dockside assistance, welcome vessel, fleet of concierge cars - which guests can book in two hour time slots at no charge to access local supermarkets. In addition, the upgrades to our shore-side amenities, access to our floating customer lounge and a jam packed calendar of events, are all designed so guests make the most of their stay. We hope you will consider trying our marina for one night at least the next time you are sailing through the Whitsundays.

We have been into Abell Point Marina several times, always enjoyed the experience. Upgrades to amenities, including a newly completed amenities barge, mean that the walk to the showers if a lot less if you're on some of the furthest parts of the marina. There are excellent facilities at the marina for laundry and also shops and restaurants. There is a courtesy car which we used and it was excellent, Also the bus stops frequently and can take you into town or out to suppliers for marine and hardware in Cannonvale. We will definitely keep Abell Point on our preferred lit of marinas

Considering only weeks ago they were torn apart by cyclone Debbie, the marina was spotless and vegetation was already showing signs of regrowth. The shared amenities were luxurious and worthy of any 5 star resort. The locals have just got on with business and are all happy and positive.

Thank you for the positive review Tracey. The aftermath of TC Debbie was certainly challenging for the marina, our operators and the Whitsunday community, however our focus was getting back to business. Delighted you enjoyed the newly redesigned amenities and we hope to welcome you back in the near future - the trees are all beautiful and green again and the water is still as blue!

We stayed at Abell Point from early July till mid October

Thanks Steve, glad you enjoyed your stay in 2016. The marina would have changed again considerably since then with the introduction of our Ocean Club, launch of Hemingway's restaurant and the replacement of many pontoons in the north marina. We hope you pop in for a visit again soon!

Since arriving in the Whitsundays from our home port on Lake Macquarie we have stayed at Abell Point Marina on three occasions - twice for just short of a week. On each occasion we have found the service to be outstanding - from the ladies in the North and South offices through to the marina jetty staff - nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are first class, toilet blocks always immaculate and they seem to have a great maintenance program that responds quickly to any issues.

The location is great - a very pleasant walk into Airlie Beach along the waterfront or a slightly longer, but equally scenic, walk to the major shopping centres at Cannonvale. If walking is not your thing then the marina has a courtesy car (a Toyata Hi Lux ) that can be booked during the day - a great way to make that big shop and avoid having to use bus or taxi to get things home.

I have spoken with several locals (non-boaters) who speak very highly of Paul and his efforts to lift the amenity and profile of APM. I cannot help but compare these attitudes to those we see down south whenever someone wants to either build or expand a marina.

There are some outstanding marinas along the east coast of Australia but I would have to rate this one as one of, if not, the very best.
