Deckee and Newism win 2015 Australian Web Award

They say that ideas are worthless without execution – and the concept of Deckee would have never set sail without our talented technical partners at Newism.

Despite the incredibly strong ‘word of mouth culture’ that exists amongst the boating community, for a long time there has been no website that helps boat owners easily find local marine businesses and boating locations they are interested in, read what others have said about them and share their own experiences.

Twelve months ago we approached Newism with a vision to change this, and Last Friday night in Perth, Newism won the 2015 Australian Web Award for the ‘Startup’ category, recognising Deckee as one of the nine best websites made this year. When you consider that over 100,000 websites are developed every year in Australia, this is a phenomenal result!

Congrats to @Newism for their win with @DeckeeAU in the #startup category at the nation @AusWebAwards!

This latest achievement caps off a remarkable first year for Deckee, after recently winning Best Startup in New South Wales (also from the Australian Web Awards) and Best Tourism Solution of the Year at the 2015 NEWi Awards.

The most exciting part about all of this is that there is still so much to come from Deckee! We already have some big plans underway for 2016 to support the growth and connectivity of the boating industry and we can't wait to share them with you.
